Corinthian Mark Lodge No 1052. Installation |
It was a busy night at Liverpool Masonic Hall, Hope Street, on Thursday 27th October. Both main lodge rooms were in use and so Corinthian Mark Lodge No 1052 had to hold their Installation meeting in the Chapter room. In attendance for the meeting was APGM WBro Giles Berkley and he was accompanied by WBro Steve Walls the PGM’s Special Rep for the Liverpool area. |

They were there to see an unusual Installation, of a father replacing his son in the chair. With the members and guests all dressed and ready the Worshipful Master WBro Chris Bruffell opened the meeting. Once the meeting was open, the WM called the meeting to order for an In Memoriam for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, which was accompanied with a reading by the Chaplain VWBro David Anderton. With the mark of respect complete, WBro Chris Bruffell worked his way through the general business on the summons. |
Everybody |
This included a ballot for a joining member. Bro John Cherry, (formally of Cheshire Provence) was duly balloted for and accepted as a member of the Lodge. With the items on the summons completed, WBro David Emmerson, PPrGDC, announced that WBro Giles Berkley, APGM demand admission, which the WM approved. The procession entered and was greeted by the WM. With everyone seated the Worshipful Master WBro Chris Bruffell, stood and formally greeted WBro Giles Berkley and offered him the gavel of the Lodge, which was very politely returned. |

With the Salutations finished the Master then asked WBro Chris Walls to take the chair for the Installation Ceremony. WBro Walls asked WBro Geoff Roberts to take the SW chair; WBro Mike Casey the JW chair and WBro Derek Gaskell to act as the Inner Guard. It was time now for WBro David Emmerson to present Bro John Bruffell master elect to WBro Walls to be installed into the chair. Over the last few years, I have done several installation reports that have involved WBro Chris Walls performing the ceremony and have now run out of superlatives to describe the quality of these ceremonies. |
Just to say it was excellent and very enjoyable. WBro Chris also did the explanation of the working tools and then the Address to the Master. WBro Derek Gaskell presented the Master with the Keystone Jewel. The address to Overseers was given by WBro Steve Walls. The APGM, WBro Giles Berkley stepped forward and gave an excellent Address to the Brethren. Once the ceremony was completed WBro Giles Berkley stood and brought the Provincial Grand Masters congratulations to the new Master WBro John Bruffell. He also congratulated the IPM, WBro Chris Bruffell and WBro Chris Walls for the quality of the ceremony. |
WBro Berkley then very gratefully accepted a cheque for charity form the Lodge. With the Lodge closed in due form, it was time for a fine festive board. In reply to his toast, WBro Giles Berkley again congratulated WBro John Bruffell on taking the chair and how nice it was to see a Dad take over from his Son. WBro Giles also thanked all the members of the Provincial team who had accompanied him and special praise rightly went to WBro Chris Walls for such a high-quality ceremony. |
In order to promote the Royal Ark Mariner degree had brought samples of the new RAM tie. At the end of the festive board, it was time for WBro Chris Walls to jump up and propose the Tyler’s toast. (The only thing Chris is not good at is, ’not having his photo taken’!) |
New RAM tie |
We wish the new Worshipful Master, WBro John Bruffell and the members of Corinthian Mark Lodge a successful season and with a new candidate for the next meeting things look like getting off to a good start. |
